Wonderful fruity dessert. Perfect for afternoon coffee-time!
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Coat a 9 inch baking pan with cooking spray. Set it aside.
In a large bowl using a mixer, beat butter, white sugar, vanilla and egg until fluffy.
In a medium bowl whisk flour, baking powder and salt together. Add flour mixture and buttermilk to the butter mixture and stir until just combined. Last but not least fold in the berries and chocolate chips.
Spread the batter into the pan, sprinkle with 1 tablespoon brown sugar. Bake for 40 minutes then remove it from the oven and let it cool for 30 minutes before serving.
