Description

This fudge never fails. My sister did a boutique in her home during the holidays. One of the attendees commented on this fudge, stating his grandmother slaved over a hot cast iron skillet to get fudge that creamy. I told him I slaved over a cold microwave for 3 minutes. He did not believe me, so we went to the kitchen and I showed him how fast and easy it was. He took the recipe home to his wife. It is that good!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Chocolate Chips, Semi Sweet
  • 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk (14oz)
  • 1 dash Salt
  • ½ cups Chopped Nuts, We Like Walnuts, May Increase To 1 Cup If You Love Nuts
  • 1-½ teaspoon Vanilla

Preparation

1. Place chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk and dash of salt in a large microwavable bowl. Melt chips in microwave for 1 1/2 minutes on high. Remove and stir.

2. Return bowl to microwave and cook for 1 1/2 more minutes on high.

3. Remove from microwave, add vanilla and nuts. Stir until well combined.

4. Pour into a wax paper lined or buttered 8×8 or 9×9 pan. Chill for 2 hours or until firm.

5. Turn onto a cutting board, remove waxed paper and cut into squares.

6. I generally do not use waxed paper; I use foil. Once the fudge is set, I put it in a ziplock bag, and making another batch in the pan. I use this on all of my cookie trays that I hand out during the holidays. People rave about how smooth it is, but it is so simple!

I guess somewhere in your instructions–you added the condensed milk??? I put it in after the second melting. Very good–added butterscotch chips, since I only had 2 cups of chocolate ones!!! easy and delish. Thanks!!

Apparently my microwave is a little more robust, so I had to slow down the cooking to 45 seconds at a time otherwise the chocolate seized. Once I did that, it turned out very well, and so easy.

Love this recipe — the hubster came home saying that he needs to make fudge for work the next day. We had everything on hand, which makes it even better!
