Description

A brownie and cheesecake swirl!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE BROWNIES:
  • 4 ounces, weight Butter
  • 3 ounces, weight Chocolate
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • ⅔ cups All-purpose Flour
  • FOR THE CHEESECAKE:
  • 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese, At Room Temperature
  • ⅓ cups Sugar
  • 1 whole Egg Yolk
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • FOR THE CHOCOLATE TOPPING:
  • ¼ cups Chocolate Chips
  • ¼ cups White Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350ºÏ. Line a 9×9 baking pan with parchment paper and then spray with baking spray. Set aside.

For the brownies: Melt the butter and chocolate in a small saucepan over medium low heat, constantly stirring until completely melted. Remove from the heat and whisk in the sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add the flour and carefully combine. Transfer to the parchment-lined baking pan and set aside.

For the cheesecake: In a small bowl, combine the cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla and whisk together until there are no lumps. (Make sure your cream cheese is at room temperature so this process will be easier.)

Using a spoon, drop pieces of the cheesecake batter on top of the brownie batter. Then using a knife, swirl the two batters together until you have a marbled effect.

Top with the white chocolate chips and the semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Transfer baking dish to the preheated oven and bake for 30-33 minutes.

Once baked, remove from oven and let cool before slicing.

Note: If you’re feeling really decadent, serve a slice of the cheesecake brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

These look great, but what type of chocolate do you use? Unsweetened? Thanks!

These were fantastic – I cheated and used cocoa powder (approx 3 T) instead of chocolate. I did find that they needed longer to bake and wound up leaving them in the oven for about 45mins. No chips on top and they’re still so very rich, decadent, and fantastic.

I’m always pressed for time, so I use a Ghiradelli box mix for the brownie part then make the cream cheese topping. Instead of sprinkling white and dark chips on top I like to mix mini chips into the cheesecake. I’ve found it needs to bake longer, so I just watch it until the cheesecake looks like it is done. It works so well- my friends absolutely love it when I make Cheesecake Brownies. Thanks for sharing your recipe!

Wow. I made these last night and they are unbelievable. What I love most is that they’re not overly sweet. And that I didn’t change a single thing in the recipe. Usually I make adjustments here and there, and I thought about adding walnuts, but kept to the recipe and it was worth it! Love ‘em!
