These lightly sweetened, biscuit-like scones are full of juicy blueberries. The white chocolate balances the bright flavor of the blueberries and makes these scones extra special!
Preheat your oven to 375F.
Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
Cut the butter into small cubes, then mix into flour mixture using a pastry cutter or two knives.
Toss in blueberries, white chocolate, lemon zest, and nutmeg.
Add buttermilk and stir to combine, but don’t overdo it!
Drop a couple of tablespoons of dough per scone onto onto a baking sheet and press lightly. This should form a 2 1/2 inch circle. Sprinkle each scone with sugar and bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
These are awesome served slightly warm, so the white chocolate is still melted!

I think it is supposed to be baking powder. If you read the preparation instructions, it says to combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
Just a typo on top that was fixed in the bottom! I would try them again with baking powder

I’d love to try these as there is a place near us that sells Saskatoon Berry White Chocolate scones (like a blueberry). Any suggestions on how much baking soda there should be? Or maybe is it meant to be baking powder?

I also made these (without first reading the reviews), and they were not good at all. I agree about the amount of baking soda…I wondered at the amount as I was making them and it was confirmed when I tasted them. I threw the whole batch away. So sad…

Hmm… I really can’t imagine what went wrong that would give it a bad taste. Did you use self-rising flour? ‘Cause that might do it.
Sorry they didn’t work out for you!

I tried this recipe tonight with high hopes – but it did not turn out good. I’m wondering about the amount of baking soda – it is really strong – bad taste.
