This is a combo between 3 recipes – y dad’s, my husband’s and mine. And I am a true, born and raised Texan! So this is definitely TEXAS CHILI!
Brown chili meat, sirloin, onion and garlic in stock pot over medium heat until meat is browned and onions softened. Drain grease if needed. Add tomato sauce, water, cumin and chili powder. Stir and bring to boil then let simmer for a few minutes on low – medium heat. Add more chili powder, cumin, salt pepper if needed. Once your flavor is to your liking, add chili beans and simmer for about 30 minutes longer. Add water if need be. Serve with cornbread or crackers.
