A yummy cake that is not a cake, but is a cake . . . Once you taste it you will love it, and anyone can make it.
You will need a 9×13 pan, I use glass.
Dump cherry pie filling into your pan, spread out along the pan.
Dump crushed pineapple on top of the cherry filling.
Sprinkle cake mix over the top of the fruit. Slice butter and distribute the slices evenly over the surface of the cake mix. Then sprinkle your choice of nuts over the top (quantity is up to you – and they are optional).
Bake this yumminess at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes to 1 hour. At about 30 minutes, check and see how things are going. I sometimes add more butter if some of the cake mix doesn’t look like it’s been cooked right (i.e. it still looks like dry cake mix). Do not cook past an hour.
Take it out, let it cool for a few minutes, serve in a bowl. Add whipped cream, vanilla ice cream or eat it by itself, it is worth it.
