A great recipe, I have used this recipe for years and had great reviews. Not hard to make.
In a large pan mix the hot water (I use water from the faucet), sugar, and white Karo syrup. Mix well. Using a candy thermometer, heat the above to 250 degrees F.
Next add the Spanish peanuts and continue cooking until thermometer reaches 300 degrees F. Take off heat.
Add the butter, salt, and baking soda. Mix this for 1 minute.
Pour the mixture onto a well-butter cookie sheet and let cool. Then break into pieces. Enjoy!
