Fry bacon in skillet, remove from skillet and drain on paper towel. After bacon is cooled, break up into small pieces. Do not drain bacon grease from skillet. Add onion to bacon grease and cook till soft and translucent. Add sugar, vinegar, salt, & pepper to the onions in skillet. Cook till sugar dissolves, then add drained beans, stir and simmer for 30-45 minutes. Just before serving sprinkle broken up bacon on top of beans.
