Tear or chop the lettuce into small pieces and divide evenly into 2 bowls.
Melt butter and honey or agave nectar over medium heat and add pecans. Lightly toast, about 5 minutes. Watch closely for burning.
Peel a pear and then very thinly slice 12 slices with a vegetable peeler. Add pear, toasted pecans, and crumbled goat cheese to salad.
Drizzle lightly with balsamic vinaigrette, and enjoy!
