Mix softened butter and brown sugar together until mostly smooth.
Add cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. Mix until incorporated.
Place mixture in a container and refigerate for at least one hour.
To make the boozy cocktail: add a spoonful of the butter mixture to one shot of rum in the bottom of your favorite mug. Pour on hot water till the mug is full. Stir until the butter mixture is melted. Sip. Pass out from joy.
To make the non-boozy version: add a spoonful of the butter mixture in the bottom of your favorite mug, pour on hot apple cider, stir till melted. Sip. Have a moment where you believe you are drinking apple pie. Bliss.
