Hot chocolate in a frozen smoothie form.
Put the the 3 ounces of chocolate in a microwave safe bowl. Heat it in the microwave in 15 second intervals until melted, stirring in between each additional 15 second heating. Then add the hot chocolate mix and sugar into the melted chocolate. Stir until completely melted and combined. Slowly stir in the ½ cup of milk until smooth. Cool to room temperature.
Add the remaining cup of milk to a blender and mix in the room-temperature chocolate mixture and the ice. Blend on high until smooth.
Pour into a glass and top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
We’re all familiar with adding rum to eggnog. Well, one of my favorite cocktails is a Black Russian so I changed it up a bit. I do keep Kahlua on hand but for those who may not, here’s an eggnog Black Russian that’s made using instant coffee granules. It’s an economical option to purchasing a whole bottle of Kahlua!
