Description

Frozen strawberries and peaches are blended with Greek yogurt, spinach and flax to create the perfectly sweet break from all those Christmas treats.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE RED SMOOTHIE:
  • 1 whole Medium Banana, Peeled
  • 1 cup Frozen Whole Unsweetened Strawberries
  • ½ cups Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
  • ½ teaspoons Stevia
  • FOR THE GREEN SMOOTHIE:
  • 1 cup Frozen Unsweetened Peach Slices
  • ½ whole Medium Banana, Peeled
  • ½ cups Nonfat Vanilla Greek Yogurt
  • ½ cups Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
  • 2 Tablespoons Milled Flaxseed
  • 1 cup Baby Spinach
  • 1 teaspoon Stevia

Preparation

1. For the red smoothie, blend banana, strawberries, almond milk and stevia in a blender until smooth.
2. Pour into a separate container and place in the freezer. Rinse out the blender before beginning the second smoothie.
3. For the green smoothie, add the peach slices, banana, yogurt and almond milk into the blender and blend well.
4. Add the flax seed, spinach and stevia and blend well.
5. Layer the smoothies into 1 mega smoothie glass or 2 smaller glasses. I found the strawberry smoothie to be a bit thicker so I would recommend putting that one on the bottom. Cheers.

Notes: I enjoy stevia in my smoothies but Splenda or Equal would substitute just as well. When I make these smoothies for my kids, I use 2% milk and agave nectar (it dissolves so much better than honey) and have had great results with that as well.
