Description

Berries offer more antioxidants than most fruits and summer is a prime time to indulge in these. This healthy fruit smoothie is perfect for breakfast, a snack, or if you just want a drink to help you cool off and enjoy while eating barbeque this summer.

Ingredients

  • 1-¼ cup Apple Juice
  • 1 cup Frozen Raspberries
  • 1 cup Frozen Strawberries
  • 1 whole Banana
  • ½ cups 1% Or Skim Milk
  • 9 ounces, fluid Lowfat Vanilla Yogurt Or Vanilla Greek Yogurt, Divided
  • 14  Ice Cubes, Divided
  • ½ cups Cranberry Juice
  • 1 cup Blueberries
  • ¼ cups Blackberries

Preparation

For the bottom layer, place apple juice, raspberries, strawberries, and banana and put in the blender. Blend for 1 minute. Grab glasses and pour equal amounts into each one. Rinse out blender.

For the middle layer, take 1% low fat milk (or skim), 6 ounces yogurt, and half of the ice cubes, and put in the blender. Blend for 1 minute. Pour equal amounts on top of the red layer for each glass. Rinse out blender.

For the top layer, take cranberry juice, blueberries, blackberries, remaining ice cubes, remaining yogurt, and put in the blender. Blend for 1 minute. Pour equal amounts on top of the white layer.

Grab a utensil (spoon, straw, etc) and stir it a bit to get the tie dye effect. Garnish with berries and now it’s ready to serve!
