Description

The comfort that this sweet, warm crisp brings is unforgettable. Pair it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for the perfect dessert.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Frozen Mixed Berries (blueberries, Strawberries, And Raspberries)
  • 4 Tablespoons Granulated Sugar Or Honey Granules
  • ¼ cups Plus 3 Tablespoons Whole Wheat Flour
  • ½ cups Regular Rolled Oats
  • ½ cups Brown Sugar Or Sucanat
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • ¼ cups Unsalted Butter
  • ¼ cups Chopped Walnuts
  • Vanilla Ice Cream, For Serving (optional)

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

For Filling: Thaw fruit completely in a large bowl at room temperature. Do not drain juices once thawed. Stir in 4 tablespoons of granulated sugar (or Honey Granules) and 3 tablespoons of flour. Pour into a 2-quart square baking dish.

For Topping: In a medium bowl combine the oats, brown sugar (or Sucanat), remaining 1/4 cup flour, and cinnamon. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in walnuts. Sprinkle topping over filling.

Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes or until fruit is bubbling and topping is golden. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
