Fantastic! Great warm out of the oven, and great at room temperature. I used 6 apples instead of 5 because the ones I had were smaller than average. I didn’t have oats for the topping so I just added 1/4 cup more flour and it worked out just fine. I also ran out of honey so used maple syrup to finish off the 1/2 cup of honey. Be warned: definitely a THREE bowl recipe! Largest bowl for the apple filling, smallest bowl for the crumb topping.

I used butter instead of coconut oil since I didn’t have any and they came out GREAT! They were a big hit with the kids….I will definitely be making them again.
I found that they were best the day they were made….by the next day they were soggy, but still good. I’m not sure about day 3 because they didn’t make it that far!

Delicious! I took them to a party & everyone wanted the recipe. I did substitute agave nectar for the honey but otherwise followed the recipe.

Whoa, these are so good! I followed the recipe exactly, but I added a little extra sugar to the apples. I wish I hadn’t now, I think they would have been perfect the way the recipe was stated (mine came out a little sweet, but that’s ok with me!). I left the peels on my apples, and I think it added a great difference in texture. Thanks for the recipe!

These are awesome! I initially thought there were too many apple pieces but the ratio of apple to peanut butter worked perfectly.

These are delicious! I decided to make them because I had pretty much every ingredient sitting around my kitchen and a bunch of apples begging to be put to good use. I followed everything exactly though I think mine bars came out a little more like pie due to the fact that my apples were huge and I still used nearly 5. They firmed up a little once I stuck them in the fridge for a bit. I also used organic almond butter instead of peanut butter just because that’s what I had and it was great. Would totally make these again. Thanks for the great recipe!

These were a little salty (probably from all the peanut butter), but my husband loved them!

These sound delicious! They are not truly vegan though, as they contain honey. Ooooh – Maple syrup might be a yummy substitution if you want vegan!

I was going to a get together at a vegan friend’s house so I wanted to take something she could eat. Found this recipe, used agave nectar instead of honey, and these were a HUGE hit. Everyone there wanted the recipe! Thanks!

What a fantastic recipe! Going to make this tonight (without the honey, and maple syrup instead).
