Sugar Plums may have only danced in your head thus far, but now you can have them on your plate! This very old, very traditional holiday dessert is one everyone will want to try.
1. Put all of the ingredients in a food processor.
2. Pulse until it’s minced evenly.
3. Add orange juice as needed to bind everything together.
4. Roll into 1″ balls and roll in sugar.
5. Set out to dry for a bit, about an hour or so.
Note: I suggest making a small batch first and then adjusting your ingredients to taste. Sugar Plums, I would say, don’t taste like any other common dessert, and this is a very traditional recipe. Try adding in a third type of nut, or switching the apples for something like dried pears if you are looking to adjust the flavor.

Just wanted to update with a variation.
The recipe above is very, very traditional. If you find you don’t like the citrus, here’s what I do:
a. eliminate the orange zest
b. swap the orange juice for cranberry juice
c. swap the apple for pineapple
d. add in toasted almonds (1/2 cup)
Hope that helps, and here is the blog post with more photos:
