My great-great grandma’s recipe – interesting! I had to translate from German – I hope it makes sense!
Butter a spring form pan or muffin tin.
Preheat oven to 500-degrees (F) for 20 minutes then turn off completely.
While oven is preheating – beat egg whites until a gentle peak is formed. Add sugar and beat another 15 minutes until a stiff peak is formed. Add vinegar, baking powder, salt and vanilla. Stir gently and spoon into muffin tins.
Put tin into hot oven (that has been turned off) and forget about it. (Which means check after 20 minutes and the top of “muffin” should have a shell like top). That’s it!
Serve with fresh blueberries or strawberries.
