Description

Warm peanut butter cake with its own fudgy sauce.

Ingredients

  • ½ cups All-purpose Flour
  • ¼ cups Sugar
  • ¾ teaspoons Baking Powder
  • ⅓ cups Milk
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla
  • 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
  • ¼ cups Peanut Butter
  • _____
  • FOR THE FUDGY SAUCE:
  • ½ cups Sugar
  • ¼ cups Dark Cocoa Powder
  • 1 cup Boiling Water

Preparation

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Mix together the first 6 ingredients. Stir in peanut butter just until smooth. Spread in an ungreased 1 1/2 quart casserole dish or 8″ glass baking dish.

In the same bowl (without rinsing), make the fudgy sauce by combining the sugar and cocoa. Gradually stir in the boiling water. Pour over the batter.

Bake for about 30 minutes, give or take 5 minutes. Serve warm.

Warning: you’ll need a glass of cold milk or a scoop of ice cream to go with it!

I made this tonight and the cake flavor is really good. However, there just didn’t seem to be enough sauce part. I think if I make it again, I will double the sauce portion. As is, it was really dry and crumbly…not at all like a typical pudding cake.
