Description

I make these and take them to work. I work in an ER at night so they go pretty quick!

Ingredients

  • 1 box Yellow Cake Mix
  • 4 whole Eggs, Divided
  • 1 stick Butter, Melted
  • 1 package Cream Cheese
  • 1 pound Powdered Sugar

Preparation

Grease and flour a 9 x 13 inch pan. Preheat oven to 350F.

Mix yellow cake mix, 2 eggs, and stick of melted butter and spread in pan as the bottom layer.

Beat cream cheese, 2 eggs, and powdered sugar and spread on top.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 mins. Let stand to harden and cool. Cut into bars.

WOW this has become a definite ‘go-to’ for something quick and delicious! I’ve been experimenting with adding different flavorings to the cream cheesey toppings too; very yum!

At Trebeards in Houston, they call this Butter Cake. I begged for the recipe, and I love making it for friends and family. It is oh so yummy!!! Luckily it’s so rich, you can’t eat the whole pan…but you’ll want to.
