Description

Thought it wasnt possible? Well, now you know: bananas make some of the best ice cream around. Great for our vegetarian, gluten-free, vegan, sugar-free, etc. friends. This is so easy and makes a creamy, custard-like ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 4 whole Bananas

Preparation

Peel then freeze bananas solid. Throw them into a food processor or blender and blend until creamy. SO SIMPLE!

Some yummy ideas for add-ins: peanut butter, honey, chocolate chips, pecans, cinnamon, or strawberries.

I’d suggest letting them sit out at room temp for a few minutes before putting in the processor or blender. My Cuisinart was struggling until I added a couple tablespoons of warm water, then it was perfect. The next time we made it we just put the already frozen banana pieces (I had cut them in 1 inch chunks) in the processor and walked away for a few minutes until they weren’t quite so frozen solid. It was a nice treat when it was hot out. I garnished with finely chopped chocolate and it was even better that way!
