Description

These bars are like a peanut butter cup on steroids. With the addition of Nutella and sea salt, these bars are brought to a whole new level of deliciousness!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE CRUST:
  • 2 cups Confectioners Sugar
  • ¾ cups Peanut Butter
  • ⅔ cups Graham Cracker Crumbs
  • FOR THE TOPPING:
  • ⅔ cups Dark Chocolate Chips
  • ¼ cups Peanut Butter
  • ⅓ cups Nutella
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter, Softened
  • 1 teaspoon Flaky Sea Salt, Or To Taste

Preparation

Line a 9-inch square pan with foil, allowing the foil to overhang on all four sides. Butter the foil and set the pan aside.

In a large bowl combine all of the crust ingredients. Spread into the prepared pan.

For the topping, combine chocolate chips, peanut butter, Nutella and butter in a microwave safe bowl. Meat until melted and smooth.

Spread over the graham cracker layer. Sprinkle sea salt over top.

Refrigerate until cool.

Using the foil, lift out of the pan, then slice into bars. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer.

I should know better than to buy pb at Aldi’s. I’m trying again with Skippy this time cause I know my co-workers will love this dish. Thanks for your input, Gwen.

Norma, Try adding more peanut butter until the crust comes together. If that doesn’t work, try adding a couple of tablespoons of melted butter.

The chocolate top of this was great, but the “crust” did not come together. I ended up with a sawdust like bottom even after I pressed down on it rather firmly. Either my pb was not fatty enough or more fat needs to be added to get a crust to form.

I gotta say–there was no way the “crust” was going to work—not enough liquid. it was all crumbly and never came together. then it all fell away from the chocolate top.
