Description

These bars are very rich but perfect for satisfying your daily chocolate-peanut butter craving!

Ingredients

  • 2 whole Graham Cracker Sheets
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 4 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • ¼ cups Peanut Butter
  • ¼ teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 2 ounces, weight Bittersweet Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Crush graham crackers in a medium bowl with a pastry cutter. Alternatively, you can use a food processor. Add the powdered sugar to the graham cracker crumbs and stir to combine. Melt the butter and peanut butter together in a small bowl in the microwave. Add the vanilla to this mixture before pouring it over the graham cracker crumb mixture. Blend this mixture very well until a stiff dough forms. Take the time to ensure all the powdered sugar is incorporated into the dough. Press this mixture firmly in the bottom of a 9” x 5” x 3” loaf pan. Ensure the crust is even and flat. Melt the chocolate in the microwave in 30-second intervals. Pour the chocolate over the crust and leave on the counter until set. Use a knife to cut the squares into small serving pieces. These are VERY rich.

Thanks, Lady McArthur for clarifying. Yes, everthing but the chocolate is the crust.

But I don’t know how to help you on the conversion. It looks like 2 sheets equals 1 ounce.

Someone else said they used 6 ounces of chocolate for the topping instead of 2–looks like you can add even more chocolate to suit your tastes too! Even better :)

Could someone let me know how many cups or grams the graham crackers end up being when they’re crushed? I live in the UK and have to use the rough equivalent (digestives) of the graham cracker and don’t know how to compare the two amounts.

bmd4me: it looks like everything except the chocolate ends up being the crust as you mix it all together in two stages. Hope that helps!

I love that you make servings for two. Maybe I can indulge more knowing I won’t have so much around to consume.

This is confusing. Are the graham crackers the crust or is the whole graham cracker, powdered sugar, peanut butter thing the crust?

These are so easy and so delicious! My son is a huge peanut butter/chocolate fan so we will be keeping this recipe for sure. I used 1 cup of chocolate chips and the layer of chocolate was about the same thickness as the crust.

Very Delicious!!! Remind me of my favorite dessert in school cafeteria. However, I found I needed about 6 oz of chocolate instead of just 2!
