Preheat oven to 350ºF. Allow cookie dough to come to room temperature.
Prepare brownie according to package directions (you’ll typically need water, eggs, and oil, as directed in mix package), baking for the lowest time stated. Once brownies are ready, immediately break apart cookie dough and spread carefully with fingers onto the brownies. Place brownies with cookies back in the oven. Increase oven temperature to 375ºF and bake an additional 10 minutes. Allow brownies to cool completely before frosting. Cookies will continue to bake while cooling.
For the frosting:
In a mixer, whip cream until it becomes thick and resembles whip cream (about 2 minutes). Add in sugar. Mix in strawberries until completely combined. Frost brownies as desired.
Note: For the puree, add 1/4 cup strawberries that have been chopped into a food processor and mix.
Frosting adapted from the Cupcake Project.
