Description

Very similar to toffee, but made with unexpected ingredients in the easiest possible way. Very rich. A great giveaway for the holidays.

Ingredients

  • 40 whole Soda Crackers
  • 1 cup Butter
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar, Packed
  • 2 cups Chocolate Chips
  • ½ cups Chopped Nuts

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350F. Line a large cookie sheet with foil. Spray with cooking spray. Cover foil with 40 soda crackers.

Boil butter and brown sugar for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour syrup over crackers. Bake for 5 minutes or until crackers float and bubble.

Sprinkle chocolate chips on top. As they melt, smooth and spread. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Cut into bars with a pizza cutter while still warm.

I had these the other night at a church potluck and literally hunted down the lady that made them to get the recipe. AND WOW, IT’S SO EASY!

I’m actually making them tonight!

I’ve done these with rye crackers and that adds a whole other deep dimension to the snack. Yummy.

These are sooo good! I’ve done them in the microwave with graham crackers and almonds too.
