Description

A perfect individual dessert!

Ingredients

  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 1 can (14 Oz. Can) Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • ⅓ cups Lime Juice
  • 1 Tablespoon Lime Zest
  • 1 drop Green Food Coloring
  • 6 whole Ready-made Graham Cracker Crusts
  • Whipped Cream And Lime Slices, For Garnish

Preparation

First, preheat the oven to 350ºF.

Begin by beating the eggs until thick and yellow. Mix in the condensed milk and beat again for about 2 minutes on low until thick and creamy.

Add the lime juice and lime zest and mix again for about 30 seconds. Finally, add a drop or two of green food coloring if you want your pies to look a bit more green!

Pour the filling into the ready-made crusts and bake for 15 minutes.

Cool for about an hour then refrigerate before serving. Top with whipped cream and a slice of lime!

These were tasty, but I would call them lime pies not key lime pies. Key limes have a distinct flavor that you don’t get from a regular. Take my word for it, I have both kinds of trees in my yard. This is a nice way to use my extra limes. I didn’t use the food coloring and the filling looked beautiful.
