Description

Granola Rice Krispie Treats are everything you love in a granola bar and everything you crave in Rice Krispie treats!

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil (See Note)
  • 1 package (10 Oz. Size) Marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon Maple Syrup
  • 4 cups Rice Krispie Cereal
  • 1-½ cup Maple Flavored Granola, I Used Bare Naked Brand

Preparation

In a large saucepan combine olive oil and marshmallows over medium heat. Stir until melted. Remove from heat and stir in maple syrup, Rice Krispie cereal and 2/3 of the granola. Stir until well blended.

Press mixture into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Press remaining granola onto the bars using wax paper or a greased spatula. Let bars set completely.

Note 3 tablespoons of olive oil might be strong for some. This will depend on your tastes. Start with 2 tablespoons and use more if needed.

Great combination, thanks. The olive oil doesn’t work for me though, I think I will stick with the butter or coconut oil. I’ll try those next time…but there will definitely be a next time. Great variation on rice krispie treats.
