Description

Eat it with people you love, because apple crisp is about fall and family.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Apples
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • ⅓ cups Butter
  • ¾ cups Flour
  • ¾ cups Packed Brown Sugar
  • ¾ cups Oatmeal
  • ¼ teaspoons Baking Powder
  • ¼ teaspoons Baking Soda

Preparation

Slice apples, toss with the lemon juice, and layer in a 9 x 9 baking dish.

Combine dry ingredients, and then use a fork to smash the butter throughout the mixture.

Spread on top of the apples. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes at 350 degrees or until top is browned and apples are tender.

Hm… the topping was really dry in some parts. I think it needed more butter. I wasn’t really impressed with the taste of this apple crisp, honestly. Kind of bland.

I just made this tonight using some apples we picked at an orchard in Blue Ridge, Ga this weekend. I used granny smith, mutzu and ambrosia apples. This topping is to die for!

I made this exact recipe on the weekend – can’t remember where I got it but I added cinnamon & nutmeg (just guessed at both) – it was fabulous!
