Description

My great grandma used to make these every time I’d visit and serve them with fresh squeezed lemonade. They are super easy and bake best when using a traditional cookie sheet versus a stone.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter Or Margarine
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 cups Plus 2 Tablespoons Enriched Four, Sifted
  • 1 package (6 Oz) Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Walnuts, Chopped

Preparation

Thoroughly cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Add flour and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Press mixture into an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 35o degrees (F) for 15 minutes or less. Cool and cut into bars.

I have made this recipe at least 5 times:) My family loves these more than chocolate chip cookies. The only thing I would like to know is the best size pan to bake them in? I used a jelly roll pan but just filled it 3/4. Am I making the bars to thick? Anyway I don’t use the nuts since my daughter is not a fan but they are still yum without.

These are delicious! I used the semi-sweet chocolate chips and walnuts in the recipe and added toffee chips and flaked coconut. YUM!
