Description

The yummiest apple pie with a crunchy brown sugar topping.

Ingredients

  • 1 piece Frozen Pie Crust, Thawed
  • 4 whole Medium To Large Apples. I Use Fuji Or Golden Delicious
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
  • ¾ cups White Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ⅔ cups Flour, Plus 2 Tablespoons, Divided
  • 1 dash Salt
  • ⅓ cups Butter
  • ⅓ cups Brown Sugar

Preparation

Peel and slice apples thinly and pour lemon juice over them in a bowl. Set aside.

Press pie crust into pie pan and flute edges.

Mix white sugar, cinnamon, 2 tablespoons flour and a dash of salt. Toss with apples and pour into pie crust.

Blend butter, brown sugar and 2/3 cup flour until crumbly.
Pour over apple mixture.

Bake at 400 degrees for 40-45 minutes.

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream. :)

To prevent the filling from getting too runny, sprinkle apples with salt, toss, let sit and drain excess liquid before adding the cinnamon, sugar, and flour.

This was my first attempt to make an apple pie and it was delicious. My boyfriend said it may be the best apple pie he’s ever had!

The filling ended up a little too watery, I’m not sure why. The crumble topping was perfect though!

I will definitely make this again, maybe with a few modifications to account for the runny filling.

Overall, a easy and delicious recipe–exactly what I needed!
