Description

No need to save this recipe for the next Kentucky Derby, it’s good all year! The top is crispy, sweet, and crunchy, and the middle is fudgy, nutty and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ½ cups Flour
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 stick Butter, Melted And Cooled Slightly
  • 2 Tablespoons Bourbon
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 whole Eggs, Slightly Beaten
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Walnuts, Coarsely Chopped
  • 1 whole 9-inch Pastry, Shell, Partially Baked

Preparation

Whisk sugar, flour and salt in a medium mixing bowl. Add the butter, Bourbon, vanilla, eggs, chocolate chips and walnuts.

Blend well and pour into the partially baked pie shell. Bake at 350ºF until puffed and firm, about 45–50 minutes. Enjoy topped with sweetened cream.

This was so good and so easy! My sister, who is not a big dessert eater, had two slices and wanted the recipe. Thanks for sharing!

This pie sounded delicious the first time I stumbled across the recipe, and I finally made it for Thanksgiving this year and it definitely held up to my expectations. It was delicious! I left out the bourbon and substituted pecans for the walnuts. It was like a big chocolate chip cookie in a pie crust, but better. I will be making it lots, lots, more. Thanks!
