Description

This dessert is a delicious combination of apple pie and cheesecake. You will not have any leftovers with this one.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick Unsalted Butter, Room Temperature
  • 1-⅓ cup All-purpose Flour
  • 1-¼ cup Sugar, Divided
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla, Divided
  • 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese, Room Temperature
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 4 whole Apples, Peeled, Cored And Sliced
  • 1-½ teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Slivered Almonds

Preparation

Preheat oven to 325F.

Crust:
Using a wooden spoon, combine butter, flour, 1/3 + 1/4 cups of the sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla in a bowl, until a soft ball forms. You may need to finish mixing with your hands. Press the dough into the base and up the sides of a 10″ tart pan, or a springform flan pan. Set aside.

Filling:
Using a hand mixer or a whisk, mix 1/3 cup sugar,. cream cheese, egg, and remaining teaspoon of vanilla until well combined. Pour onto the crust, spreading it out evenly.

Topping:
Combine apple slices, 1/3 cup sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes, then stir again to coat the apples. Spread over the filling, covering the entire surface. Sprinkle almonds over the apples.

Bake for about 45 to 50 minutes, or until golden brown and the apples are nice and tender. This can be served warm, or at room temperature.

I just wanted to say this recipe is FANTASTIC! I tried it for a potluck at work and everyone requested the recipe. So simple to make, and so decedant, but not overpowerlingly sweet.

thanks!
