Description

Scrumptiously rich!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Premade Graham Cracker Crust, 6 Ounces
  • _____
  • FOR THE CHOCOLATE LAYER:
  • ½ cups Whipping Cream
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • _____
  • FOR THE CREAM CHEESE LAYER:
  • 1 cup White Chocolate Chips
  • 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese, Softened
  • 2 Tablespoons Orange Juice
  • 2 teaspoons Grated Lemon Peel
  • _____
  • FOR THE TOPPING:
  • 1 pint Fresh Strawberries, Hulled And Sliced, 4-5 Ounces
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ½ cups Water

Preparation

Place whipping cream and chocolate chips in a medium bowl. Microwave for 15 seconds at a time until chocolate chips are melted and mixture is smooth. Pour into crust and chill for 1 1/2 hours.

Once chocolate is chilled, place white chocolate chips in a bowl and melt for 10 seconds at a time until melted. White chocolate is very temperamental so keep a careful eye on it and stir in between each heating. Once chocolate is melted, mix in cream cheese, orange juice and lemon zest. Spread evenly over chocolate layer. Chill for another 2 hours.

To make topping, place strawberries, sugar and water in a small sauce pan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Cook uncovered for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and cool completely. Cover and chill until ready to serve. Serve over pie.

This is now one of my favorite pies EVER. This is sinfully rich, and somewhat resembles the flavor of a fruit tart, with more chocolate flavor. It tastes much more impressive than the time it takes to make it, and looks very pretty when served, especially with a dollop of homemade whipped cream. Thanks for sharing!
