Made these this morning and they are amazing! These are the best brownies that I have ever had, hands down!

Perfect. Perfect, perfect, perfect! They a moist, and just a smidge chewy and the edges are crisp and they have that ultra-thin, flaky, mark-of-a-perfect-brownie crust.
I halved the recipe. Made one regular 1/2 batch and another 1/2 batch with one tsp of cayenne to add a little warmth at the end of each chocolate-y bite. They were both FABULOUS.

Oh my! These are perfection! My hunt for the perfect brownie seems to now be over…no need for box mixes or bakery purchases…homemade at its best.

My daughter and MIL made these yesterday for my hubby’s birthday. They had so much fun making them and we all loved eating them. They were a thick brownie (glass 9×13 pan) and great balance of chewy/crumbly. They used succanant instead of white sugar and they are perfect. Of course, you can’t go wrong with 2 bags of chocolate chips. Perfect with a little bit of vanilla icecream. Great way to celebrate a birthday!

This is the recipe I chose for my first go at homemade brownies, and I don’t think I’ll ever go looking for another. They’re fantastic and easy! My perfect brownie – more fudgey than cakey, but not overly so. Great crispy edges and flaky top!
A couple of notes:
I used white chocolate chips for the add in. They all sunk to the bottom, as I suspected they were going to do. I think maybe next time I will sprinkle them on the top after pouring in the batter … maybe they’ll work their way down more slowly as they bake.
My brownies rose higher than the 9 x 13 pan they were baking in. Just FYI, so you’re not surprised
When she says “large saucepan,” she means it. I tried to stir in the flour in the pan I melted the chocolate in, and it fit, but not well enough to properly stir, so I dumped it back into the bowl I’d used for the flour. If I had used the right size saucepan, this could have been a one-bowl recipe, which is fabulous.

I have been looking for a decent Brownie recipe for a long time, I came across this one and gave it a go. My husband thought he had gone to heaven when he tasted a piece. And it’s not hard to make, I had all the ingredients at home. Thanks so much! This is definitely a favourite!

These brownies are simply easy to make and I had most of the ingredients already in the pantry. Chocolaty goodness! It makes a great a big batch too, which is great for sharing with the neighbors!

Just made these, only had one 12-oz package of chocolate chips (and no almonds) and they were absolutely delicious.
I didn’t have a large saucepan so I combined the chocolate chips and vanilla with the just-boiled sugar/water/butter mixture in the small saucepan I had and transferred that to a separate mixing bowl, worked out fine.
Thank you for the recipe!

Thanks so much for posting this long lost recipe!!!!! I used to make these brownies when I was in Jr High (way too many decades ago to mention) and have been searching for the recipe for years! I remembered the ingredients, just not the proportions (although this seems to be a double recipe). It used to be printed on the back of the chocolate chip bag and was always a favorite of everyone who had them. Going to make them soon!

My Daughter Cassie and her husband came for a visit a few weeks ago and fixed the Caramelized Onion & Prosciutto Pizza. It was Great! She then introduced me to this web site. I have been amazed! The first thing that caught my eye was the Brownies as they should be reciept. I had to give it a try. Let me just say they are the best Brownies ever and I have had to make them Twice in 2 weeks. They are Killer!!!!
Thanks

Just made these last night for guests and they were so good! Using Tasty Kitchen is making my life a little harder one recipe at a time. My family now refuses canned spaghetti sauce, frozen bagel bites, now boxed brownie mix, thanks to this site!
