Oh so easy to make and very delicious! I absolutely hate to cook out of a box, but both my fiance and I think box brownies are the best. These aren’t exactly like box brownies, but they are delicious! I like to leave the center a little gooey and top w/ice cream while they are hot :-O

This was my first “from scratch” brownie recipe, and I chose it a-because it had 5 mitts and, b- because it called for cocoa powder and basic ingredients. If you could give more than 5 mitts I would! This was amazing! Thanks so much for sharing it with us
Never again will I make brownies from a box!

Excellent!! I just made these a few minutes ago and my husband and I LOVE THEM! Your right, way better then the box! Thank you!

These were SO EASY to make! The brownies are moist, a little fudge-y (I added a few swirls of Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup to the batter prior to pouring into the baking dish), and extremely tasty. Definitely better than a box mix!!

Pretty good recipe — I agree, it is a great basic recipe that you could add to. I thought that the butter made them a little too buttery/oily. Might switch that up next time. Thanks!
P.S. The plastic knife secret is the BEST!

These were pretty good, but I’ve tried better homemade brownies before… It’s really easy to make though, and all the ingredients are easily accessible, even outside the US (which is why I chose this recipe over those that ask for semi-sweet chocolate chips, which are hard to find here in Tokyo). Thanks for this nice recipe!

I definitely have to try this recipe out. I’m trying to get myself to do more baking from scratch. I’ve held out this long b/c I absolutely love betty crocker’s triple chunk brownies
Are these more of a fudge or cakelike? Could I play around with the amount of eggs?

I’m sure you could! I made them this weekend and realized I didn’t have enough butter, substitued half of the butter with oil and they were fine.

I’m one of those people who think boxed brownies are the best. Every from scratch recipe I’ve tried has never been that deep chocolate taste I crave or they come out too dry.
But going by the photo, these look like true chocolatey brownies. I’m going to “hopefully” get the chance to try these for Easter. Now I’m going through a true chocolate craving!

This is nearly the same recipe I’ve been using. Except mine is all oil instead of butter. (I like that texture better.) I’ve subbed out the vanilla for almond. And I’ve used extra dark cocoa. Both work. This recipe produces a rich moist brownie. I usually do this with all the ingredients 50% more–in a 9×13 pan–fills it up and makes really thick brownies. Yum.

I made these brownies tonight for our life group and they were awesome! I actually added some Ghirardelli semi sweet chocolate chips which gave them a little extra chocolate flavor. These were the best from scratch recipe I have ever had!! The group agreed as well

Made them last night…. So good! I added a little bit of oil just to make sure they turned out kinda fudgy rather than cake like, that’s just they way I like ‘em. But over all very easy and very good recipe! Thank you for sharing!

What kind of texture does the oil give? More fudgy?

Delicious! I am supposed to be getting on the treadmill tonight, but what’s the point when there’s a whole pan of these close by? Really, really yummy!

So easy and so delicious! I think next time I’ll try making them in a square dish since they refused to cook evenly, but I have that problem every time I try to make brownies in a rectangular pan. Highly recommend this recipe!
