As easy to make as it is to say!
In a medium sized bowl, add 2 cups sugar, 1/2 cup butter (at room temperature) and eggs; mix together until creamy. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and baking soda. Combine all ingredients in one bowl, and add the cubed apples. Bake in a greased 13×9 pan for 60 minutes at 350ºF.
During the last 15 minutes while the cake is baking, you can prepare the caramel sauce. On the stovetop, combine the remaining 1 cup butter, the half-and-half, brown sugar, and remaining 1 cup sugar. Bring to a boil and add the vanilla.
Pour over the warm cake and enjoy!
