Description

Savory banana bread with dark chocolate chips.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ¼ cups Olive Oil
  • ¼ cups Honey
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 whole Bananas, Mashed
  • 1-½ cup Dark Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix flour, baking soda and salt in a bowl. In a separate bowl mix oil, honey, eggs and vanilla.

Mash bananas and beat into wet ingredients.

Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, stirring until batter is moist. Add chocolate chips and stir to distribute evenly.

Bake in a greased loaf pan for one hour or until a toothpick comes out clean.

This bread had a nice texture and was moist. I baked only 45min. Also heads up this is not a super sweet banana bread (if that’s what you are looking for). Easy and quick to make too!

This bread is delicious! I ate two pieces once it was cool enough to cut, but still warm so the chocolate was soft. Looking at the recipe again, I realize I doubled the honey and only used 1 cup of chocolate chips–oh well still delicious.
