Description

Super moist, spiced pear quick bread comes together in a snap. Drizzle the top with a sweet glaze and be ready to indulge.

Ingredients

  • 1-½ cup White Wheat Flour
  • ½ teaspoons Baking Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoons Ground Cloves
  • ⅛ teaspoons Ground Nutmeg
  • ½ cups Packed Light Brown Sugar
  • ⅓ cups Honey
  • ⅓ cups Canola Oil
  • 1 whole Large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Shredded Pear (about 1 Large Pear)
  • ½ cups Cup Raisins (optional)
  • FOR THE GLAZE:
  • 1 cup Confectioners Sugar
  • 4 Tablespoons Heavy Cream

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350ºF. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.

In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, honey, oil, eggs, vanilla, and pear. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture, slowly pour the wet mixture into the well. Stir just until the dry ingredients are moist. Fold in the raisins.

Spoon the batter into a greased and floured 9×5 inch loaf pan. Bake for 50 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes; remove from pan and allow to cool completely on a wire rack.

Make the glaze: Whisk together the confectioner’s sugar and cream until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the bread.
