Description

People from the south love cornbread! This is a family favorite on a Sunday morning.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Corn Meal
  • ¼ teaspoons Baking Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Baking Soda
  • ½ cups Cream Cheese, Softened
  • ¼ cups Light Cream
  • 2 whole Large Eggs, Beaten
  • 4 slices Hickory Smoked Bacon (Cook Until Crisp And Cut Into Pieces)
  • ¼ cups Maple Syrup (warmed) Optional

Preparation

Preheat oven to 400 F. Liberally spray a 12″ skillet with your favorite cooking spray. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl add cornmeal, baking powder, baking soda, cream cheese, light cream and beaten eggs. Stir until combined. Add bacon pieces and fold them into the cornbread batter.

Transfer the batter into the prepared skillet, smooth the top and place it in the oven. Bake for 18-22 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven. If desired, warm some maple syrup to pour over each sliced wedge! This is delicious and I hope you enjoy!
