This Low Fat Banana, Date & Nut Bread may be low on fat, but it’s not low on flavor! It’s perfect to enjoy with that morning tea or coffee. This recipe makes two loaves, one to eat now, and one to put in the freezer to enjoy later.

This bread was very easy to make, pops right out of the pan. Very moist, and yummy!! Will be making this again.

I’d never ever tried to bake anything from scratch before, until this recipe. It turned out SO good that my bake-from-scratch insecurities have been dispelled. Thanks so much!

My first banana bread and it was sooooo simple. Very yummy to boot! I wanted to 1 1/2 the recipe but, yikes, I was outta flour.
The only thing I was wondering was you call for a “prepared pan” and didn’t say how you would prepare it. I just “Pam-ed” it and it worked just fine. But I know some people like to grease or grease and flour, etc.

This is my recipe to the T except mine calls for 1/2 cup sour cream and I always, always, always add chopped walnuts and 1 T. cinnamon because I’m not such a banana fan. It would probably also be delicious with choc chips added. Hmm…might have to go try that now.

I just made this bread.
It is delicious in flavor, and I would not have a problem adding the extra 1/4 C of sour cream like the above poster.
I did have to get it right out of the pans to cool, because at the minimum bake time of 40 it was getting pretty dark around the edges. I’ve not had any problems with other breads, so I just wanted to give a heads up.
Otherwise GREAT! Next time I’ll sprinkle the top with cinnamon sugar!

I made this on Thursday. I cooked it in a Bundt pan because we just moved and I could only find one loaf pan. We also have a new (to me) oven that actually cooks accurately (imagine my surprise!); and that is why I got in the shower when there were still 30 minutes left and it got overdone. My fault. Our old oven was so sloooooooow…… regardless, I will make it again and watch it more closely because even overly browned, it was still good. Oh yeah.

I made this yesterday as I only had two bananas. This was incredibly good and moist, so moist! I will definitely make this again. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

I just made 4 large loaves and 4 small loaves today. This was so easy and very delicious. This will be our “keeper” recipe for Banana Bread! I have tried other recipes and nothing compares to this one.

I’m a big fan of making banana nut bread and this was my first experiment with adding sour cream. The bread was super easy to make and is moister (is that even a word?) than my traditional banana bread.
My preferred method of eating is warm, with whipped cream cheese slathered on : )

This is the best banana bread recipe I have ever tried. Yummy! I came across the recipe about two weeks ago and have made it about three times already. I replaced the sour cream with vanilla yogurt and added a teaspoon of cinnamon.
