Description

Autumn in the air? The smell of this bread while baking is just glorious and pleasing, and it’s delicious, too!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE BREAD:
  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • ¼ teaspoons Iodized Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 3 Tablespoons Light Brown Sugar
  • ¾ cups Granulated Sugar
  • 2 whole Large Eggs, Beaten
  • 1 stick Sweet Cream Butter, Melted
  • ¼ cups Light Cream
  • ½ teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Granny Smith Apples (cored, Peeled, Diced Finely)
  • 1-¼ teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 2 pinches Nutmeg
  • FOR THE GLAZE (optional):
  • 1-½ cup Confectioners Sugar
  • 4 Tablespoons Light Cream
  • 2 Tablespoons Cold Water

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350ºF.

In a large mixing bowl, add flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and sugars. Mix with a fork. Add beaten eggs, butter, light cream and vanilla extract and stir to combine. Fold in apples, cinnamon and nutmeg to incorporate all ingredients.

Spray a nonstick 5 x 9 bread pan with Baker’s Joy (cooking spray with flour) and add bread batter. Smooth the top. Bake for 50 minutes. The house will smell wonderful!

While the bread is baking, prepare the glaze (optional). In a small bowl, add confectioners sugar, cream and water and whisk together.

Let bread cool, add glaze, then slice and serve. Enjoy! It’s a family favorite in my household.
