In a medium bowl, mash the boiled potatoes using a fork and add the remaining ingredients. Make a smooth mixture making sure everything is nicely incorporated.
Make 20 round patties/tikki’s and set aside for 30 minutes in the refrigerator. (This step helps binds the tikkis together.)
Heat the large nonstick pan over medium flame, brush with oil and place 5-6 tikkis at a time. Let cook for 2 minutes, flip and cook till both sides are cooked and brown in color. Repeat until all tikkis are cooked.
To serve, place tikkis on a flat serving plate. Pour beaten yogurt on it. Pour 1 teaspoon of tamarind sauce over each tikki. Sprinkle some red chili and cumin powder for decoration. Serve hot.
