Description

The pickles are what makes this cheese ball! The cook time is actually chill time.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese
  • 1 cup Grated Cheddar
  • ½ cups Diced Dill Pickles
  • 2 Tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • ½ cups Chopped Walnuts

Preparation

1. Mix the first five ingredients together in a medium sized bowl. You may have to use your hands to mix thoroughly.

2. Shape into a ball.

3. Roll in the chopped walnuts until the ball is coated.

4. Chill in the fridge for at least an hour before serving.

5. Serve with crackers.

My friend made this for a get-together last night, and it was really good! I like dill pickles, but never would have thought to put them in a cheese ball.

This dip is astoundingly good! Such simple ingredients, easy to make, and such a crowd pleaser. I double it every time and never have leftovers. Last time before I rolled the chilled ball in walnuts I sprinkled it with smoked paprika, it was a great addition. Also as a tip, if you put the mixed dip in a saran wrapped lined bowl to chill it makes serving so much faster/easier/less messy. Just pull the chilled ball out by the saran wrap, flip it on the plate and top with nuts!

This was super easy and delicious! I left my cream cheese out too long though before I made it and it was sort of a mushy ball. I think this would be good made as a dip in a dish with the walnuts (toasted!) on top.
