Description

This is a delicious and healthy alternative to the usual “I’m watching (insert favourite show) and need a really tasty snack.” It can be made with a combination of your favourite herbs and spices. This recipe is just one example.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 Oz. Can) Chickpeas
  • ¼ cups Olive Oil
  • ½ teaspoons Curry Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Allspice
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Cloves
  • ½ teaspoons Pumpkin Pie Spice (optional... If You Have It In Your Spice Rack, Use It!)
  • 2 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoons Cayenne Powder (or More... If You Are The Spicy Type!)
  • 2 teaspoons Fresh Grated Ginger
  • 2 teaspoons Sea Salt

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 400ºF.

Toss the chickpeas in oil, then put them into a bowl. Combine all the spices in a separate little bowl for your spice blend. Give it a good mix, then sprinkle over the chickpeas, and toss to coat evenly.

Put the chickpeas onto a baking sheet and into the oven for about 30 minutes. About halfway through, give them a bit of a shake. At the end of the 30 minutes, taste! If they are still soft, back in they go! You want them to have just a little bit of a soft center. When they cool, they will crisp up more.

Roasted chickpea is a very healty snack. It is ideal when you think about all those oily nuts. Here, in that site, I saw many flavors one of which can be suitable for everybody. My favourite is -Crunchy

Oh my heaven…these were SOOOO good. A huge hit all around. We like our food spicy, but even the 1/2 tspn of Cayenne was plenty! haha…

I didn’t have the pumpkin pie spice or ground cloves, so I substituted some freshly ground nutmeg and a little bit of ground cardamom.

I saved this the first time I saw it! They were amazing, although i used different seasonings I was surprised at how delicious they were. I will be making these often with different spices. Thanks for the idea, I think ill post my seasoning recipe too. I hope you wont mind.
