Description

These easy Stir Fried Green Beans with Ginger and Garlic are a quick and easy versatile side that goes with so many main courses. It is the perfect accompaniment for chicken, fish, beef and pork.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Low Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Rice Vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon Water
  • 1-½ teaspoon Brown Sugar
  • ⅛ teaspoons Sesame Oil
  • ⅛ teaspoons Crushed Red Pepper Flakes (see Notes)
  • 2 Tablespoons Canola Oil
  • 1 pound Green Beans Trimmed And Cut In 1 1/2 Lengths
  • 3 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 Tablespoon Ginger, Minced

Preparation

In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, vinegar, water, brown sugar, sesame oil and crushed red pepper.

Heat oil over medium high heat in a wok or large skillet. The oil should be very hot and just starting to smoke. Add green beans and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Turn the heat to low. Add garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Add soy sauce mixture and turn heat up to medium. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring frequently.

Note: Crushed red pepper adds a little heat. Add less if you are sensitive to it, more if you love the heat.
