Description

Cauliflower is a perfect substitute for rice in this slightly spicy, totally savory recipe. It’s also very versatile. Add in other veggies, egg, or chicken for a heartier meal!

Ingredients

  • ¼ heads Cauliflower
  • ½ Tablespoons Olive Oil, For Skillet
  • 1 Tablespoon Each Toasted Sesame Oil And Soy Sauce
  • ½ Tablespoons Each Dried Minced Garlic, Dried Minced Onion, And Sesame Seeds
  • Sriracha Hot Sauce, As Desired To Taste
  • For Garnish: Extra Sesame Seeds

Preparation

Chop the cauliflower into medium sized pieces. Place in a food processor and pulse until it forms a consistently sized ‘snow’.

Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the cauliflower and stir it around for about 2 minutes. Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, onion, and sesame seeds. Continue to stir occasionally for about five minutes. Test the cauliflower to see if it has reached a tenderness you enjoy. Note that it will never be exactly like rice, because it’s not rice!

Add the Sriracha and stir again. Serve warm with a few sesame seeds on top.

No one in my family could guess what this was made out of! They all thought it was some type of grain or rice. I will use this over and over again! I think it lends itself to having lots of different flavors added to it. What a creative way to stay grain/gluten free AND get more veggies in!
