Description

Thin cut potatoes fried in canola and sesame oil with a wasabi dipping sauce.

Ingredients

  • ¾ quarts Canola Oil
  • 4 Tablespoons Sesame Oil
  • 3 pounds Russet Potatoes, Washed And Cut Into Thin 'fries'
  • ½ blocks Cream Cheese, Softened, 8 Ounce Block
  • 1 cup Mayonnaise
  • 3 Tablespoons Wasabi Paste
  • 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Water

Preparation

In a large Dutch oven bring the canola and sesame oils to 375 F (heat it between medium high and high on your stove).

Once oil is hot add the potatoes and fry until almost golden brown. Remove them from the oil using a kitchen spider or slotted spoon. Drain on a plate lined with paper towels and sprinkle with plenty of sea salt.

In a medium sized bowl whisk together the remaining ingredients (cream cheese through water). Serve fries with the dipping sauce on the side.
