I couldn’t think of a better name—except “Easy, Creamy, GONE!”
Move the oven rack up so it’s positioned in the top 1/3 of your oven. Preheat oven to 375ºF.
Pour melted butter into a 9 x 13 inch glass baking dish. “Swirl” to cover the bottom of the dish.
Cut potatoes in half lengthwise, then slice into 1/4″ slices (into the baking dish) until they’re one layer deep. Sprinkle the potatoes with a pinch of minced garlic and salt and pepper to taste.
Continue slicing potatoes into the dish, stopping to sprinkle each layer with minced garlic and salt and pepper (to taste) until all of the potatoes have been used. Don’t worry if you run out of minced garlic before slicing all of the potatoes—the garlic flavor will permeate the dish it bakes.
Slowly pour the heavy cream over the top.
Bake at 375ºF for 40 to 45 minutes, until the potatoes are tender and the top is bubbly and golden.
