Tastes somewhat like au gratin potatoes or macaroni and cheese. Makes for a great side dish or to get the little ones to eat vegetables!
Preheat oven to 400ºF.
Place kohlrabi in a greased 2-quart casserole dish.
In a large saucepan, melt 3 tablespoons butter over medium heat. Add flour and salt and stir until flour is blended well with the butter. Gradually add milk a small amount at a time, constantly stirring. Stir after each addition until sauce is slightly thickened before adding more. Continue until all milk is combined and sauce is thick. Stir is cheese until melted. Pour over kohlrabi.
Bake for 35-40 minutes until kohlrabi is tender and top is slightly brown. Mix remaining butter and bread crumbs and sprinkle on top of kohlrabi and bake for an additional 5 minutes. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
