This applesauce is to die for! Everyone who tries it asks for the recipe. I wasn’t a big applesauce fan until I tried this recipe. I hope you love it too!
I leave the skins on the apples, but you can take them off if you prefer. Core the apples and then slice them into chunks and place in a medium saucepan. Add water and bring to a boil. Cover the pan and turn the heat down to medium low. Boil for 30 minutes. Put the whole panful into a food processor and process to your liking. We like ours with a little texture. Return apples/water to the saucepan and add the brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir well. Boil and stir for one minute. Serve.
You can double or triple the recipe if you have a large gathering. It freezes well. I make it several weeks ahead to serve at Christmas.
