Skip the box and make it easily at home. This recipe is endlessly customizable!
In a large skillet (use one with a lid because you’ll need it in a bit), combine margarine or butter, rice and cut vermicelli or spaghetti. Saute over medium heat, stirring frequently, until pasta is golden brown.
Slowly stir in water, bouillon and meat (if applicable); bring to a boil.
Cover and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes until rice is tender and fluffy and no longer wet and meat is cooked.
Note: Meat choices could be cubed fresh or frozen raw chicken or turkey; browned ground beef or turkey; or other.
